An inherent problem with wind power is that generation is both uncontrollable and unpredictable.

National demand averages 48,000 Mw (Megawatts), and has peaked at 56,000 Mw.

Britain has 1317 turbines (110 wind farms) with maximum output of 1,042 Mw
(if the wind is blowing at the right speeds).

Devon has 3 turbines at Bradworthy, maximum output 2.7Mw.
On average these will produce about 650 kilowatts, enough for 220 kettles.

Electricity generated by wind power is 2.5 times more expensive than that from conventional
sources and is only feasible through enormous subsidies paid by the taxpayer.

Devon Wind Power as the developer will collect over £8 million subsidy per year for 25 years.
