This proposal will have a hugely, adverse impact over a wide area. Fullabrook and the surrounding area, contrary to what
the applicant claims, is not “sparsely populated”.
There are many individual households and settlements in and around the windfarm sites; and the villages of West Down and Braunton are a
kilometer or so away. The quality of life of thousands of local people will be significantly damaged by this development.
Previous proposals for much smaller turbines nearby have all been found to be unacceptable after planning inquiries,
solely because of the special value of the local landscape.
The developers’ planning consultant describes the turbines now proposed as being massive. The firm’s own
landscape consultant states in the assessment that “65m towers were at the limit of acceptability in this area.”
Yet what is proposed is far, far bigger.
