North Devon is one of the three largest areas of rural tranquility in England. The site chosen lies on a high exposed ridge line that dominates North Devon with direct site lines to Exmoor, Dartmoor, Hartland, Lundy Island and Wales. Fullabrook in this respect could not be a more environmentally sensitive area.

For decades many agencies and local people have worked to preserve the stunning scenery and beautiful coastline. The construction of this power station would wreck miles of country lanes and hedgerows and thousands of acres of green fields would resemble battlefields.

The peaceful, unspoilt, beautiful nature of the area is vital to the tourist industry on which North Devon is so dependent. The economic effect would be disastrous resulting in an enormous reduction in earnings and ultimately in job losses.
